After nearly a decade of successful practice in the US and serving the Launceston community since 2012, he is excited to now bring his expertise to the wonderful folks of Prospect.
But wait, there's more to Dr. Montgomery than his top-notch chiropractic skills! When he's not busy alleviating pain and promoting wellness, you might just find him out on the water, gliding along with a paddle in hand. That's right – he's an aspiring stand-up paddle boarder, always seeking the perfect wave of tranquility … and hopefully not falling in the water :)
Dr. Rick is also an avid sports fan of gridiron football and basketball. He can often be found (and heard!) cheering on his favourite teams - the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens and the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies! As a fellow Murray State University alumnus, he’s a huge fan of Ja Morant, the most exciting superstar in the NBA.
But let's get back to his chiropractic expertise. Dr. Montgomery's journey has been memorable. He hosted his own radio show, "Adjust Your Thinking," and even collaborated with famous names like The Wiggles and Dancing with the Stars (US). Beyond the glitz and glam, his heart lies in making a positive difference through humanitarian efforts. He has shared his chiropractic care and healing touch with communities in Brazil and Haiti, leaving behind smiles and healthier lives.
Did you know? Dr. Montgomery is one of the few chiropractors in Tasmania certified in the Webster Technique, a specialised skill that aids in creating a more comfortable pregnancy journey for mums-to-be and their precious little ones.
When it comes to chiropractic care, he takes a patient-centred approach. He listens carefully to your concerns, tailoring treatments to suit your individual needs. With a warm and caring demeanor, he believes in empowering you with knowledge to improve your overall well-being.
Educationally, Dr. Rick pursued Pre-Medicine/Pre-Chiropractic and Nursing studies at Murray State University from 1995 to 2000. He and his small family then moved to Davenport, Iowa where he undertook the additional 3.5 years of post-graduate training at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa to receive his DC (Doctor of Chiropractic) degree.
Beyond his chiropractic expertise and love for the Memphis Grizzlies, Dr. Montgomery cherishes his role as a devoted husband to his wife, Hannah, with whom he has shared over 25 years of adventure. Together, they are proud parents to four children: Hunter, Ian, Sydney, and Izzy.
